[00:00:00] Danielle: If you find yourself being really indecisive when it comes to making decisions in your business, we're going to be talking all about that today.

[00:00:07] Danielle: I'm going to give you my top 10 tips to move forward on decisions with confidence. Let's go ahead and get started on today's episode.

[00:00:16] Danielle: Have you ever been faced with the decision that you need to make in your business and all of a sudden you just freeze and you have no idea how to decipher? What the best decision is, what the best direction is to go. I have put together 10 tips to better make decisions with confidence inside of your business.

[00:00:37] Danielle: Maybe it's taking on that collaboration that you've been pitched for. Maybe it's wanting to launch a new product or a new service. Maybe you're thinking about launching a YouTube channel or a podcast. or wanting to create a online course or online product, but you're not really sure what is the best decision, what's the next best thing to do [00:01:00] in your business.

[00:01:00] Danielle: So let's go ahead and get started number one is to dream and to sit down with a blank piece of paper, get out a pen and start dreaming of what you want your business and your life to look like five years from now. This is a really important step because often when we're making decisions in our business, we're thinking very short term, right?

[00:01:20] Danielle: But when we can actually look at it from a perspective that is more long term, we can really make a better decision because we're not just going with the flow or chasing shiny objects. So I want you to really envision what does your business look like five years from now, what does your life look like and your schedule.

[00:01:39] Danielle: . Maybe you would love to be able to work three days a week so really. Dream about what you want that five year vision to look like. What do you want to be doing in your business? What are you spending your time and your days working on?

[00:01:53] Danielle: The clearer you can get on your vision, the better you can make decisions in the [00:02:00] time right now. So after you have dreamed about what you want that five year vision to look like, number two, is to reverse engineer what are the steps that are going to get you closer to those goals. So right now, if you're feeling like, wow, I'm so far away from that ideal vision of where I want to be and where I want to go, then break them down into super small steps and schedule out those steps in your calendar and make sure that those are actually going to get done. So reverse engineer your goals and then ask yourself with this decision that you're going to make, does this actually fit within those goals?

[00:02:37] Danielle: Number three is to revisit your mission and vision. A lot of times when we're running our businesses, we get super caught up in the day to day activities that we forget to go back and look at, why am I doing this in the first place? What is my mission? What is my vision?

[00:02:53] Danielle: If you don't have a why or Purpose behind what you're doing. You're gonna first of all lose motivation, and you're [00:03:00] also gonna lose clarity on where you're going and what opportunities are for you and not for you. So revisiting your mission and vision, and then asking yourself, does this opportunity align with my mission and vision?

[00:03:14] Danielle: That number four is evaluate the opportunity. Think to yourself, is this going to bring me closer to my goals? The time that it takes and everything that it's going to take to create this, does this help me get closer to Those dreams, those goals, that vision and mission that I have for my business, or is this just a distraction from that?

[00:03:36] Danielle: Number five is understand your motivation. So ask yourself, what is your motivation for doing this? for starting this project for making this big decision. Is this something that is actually in line with your gifts and something that you're truly passionate about and truly good at? Or is it maybe something that you've seen someone else do and you're like, wow, that looks super [00:04:00] cool.

[00:04:00] Danielle: They're having a ton of success. They're making money. And so you want to copy that. So sometimes we can get really distracted with shiny objects that are not bringing us closer to our goals because we've seen other people do it and we think if she's doing that, I should do that too, rather than really figuring out, does this truly align with where I want to take my business in the future?

[00:04:22] Danielle: Number six, dig into the financials and make projections. If you want to do this on a spreadsheet, that's what we love to do and that's what we love to teach our students to do. Use a spreadsheet and actually map out how much it would cost, what would be the expenses that would go along with this project.

[00:04:41] Danielle: project or how much is it going to cost and then make projections on what it could mean and what the outcome of it could potentially bring in for you. So if it's creating a product or creating an online course or whatever that is, write down all of the expenses that are associated with that [00:05:00] and then also the potential income that you could make from this product or from this service.

[00:05:05] Danielle: Making those projections are really important and do you need to invest in? different programs, into coaching, into a team to outsource to make this happen.

[00:05:14] Danielle: Number seven is brainstorm these opportunities with a coach or with a trusted group of other entrepreneurs.

[00:05:23] Danielle: I think it's so powerful when you can get around other people and really talk through the decisions that you're making. This is why from the beginning of my business, I have always sought out community. Invested in courses, invested in coaches, masterminds, in other communities so that I can brainstorm and bring my ideas and bring those decisions to another group of people so that you can get different perspectives.

[00:05:49] Danielle: on what you are doing, but also sometimes just talking that through with other people, hearing their feedback really solidifies your decision in your own mind. You come with [00:06:00] this jumbled mess, this is always what our mastermind members say about being in the hot seat, is that you come and you're like, okay, This is what I'm working on.

[00:06:09] Danielle: This is what I'm doing. And it's a jumbled mess. It's let's think about a puzzle, right? You put all the pieces down and it's a mess. And then by the end, it's such a clear picture and so sometimes you just need those other people to reflect back to you what you're saying, to work through those details with you, to maybe ask you questions that you wouldn't have thought of.

[00:06:29] Danielle: asking yourself around these opportunities, that's a really powerful way for you to get that feedback and be able to make those decisions, especially if they're decisions that are going to take you a lot of time or are going to have you

[00:06:46] Danielle: Just because it's going to take you a lot of time and money doesn't mean that you shouldn't make that decision, but to talk it through and to really say, okay, what could be the benefit of this decision? decision is really powerful so that you can move [00:07:00] forward with that confidence.

[00:07:01] Danielle: Number eight is to take action. This is a really simple one, but a lot of the decisions that we make sometimes we think that they're big decisions, but really they're not. And so sometimes clarity comes from just moving forward. on that decision and either saying yes or saying no. Every time that you live in this camp of indecisiveness, really what you're doing is you're procrastinating and you're wasting time really because your mind is thinking about the decision and it's trying to work out a solution. Whereas if you were to just make that decision, then you can move forward. And if it's the wrong decision, I know for me, sometimes in my business, I've made a decision at.

[00:07:43] Danielle: It's been the wrong decision, but that's okay because I've learned from it, right? And at least I moved forward, and then I had to shift and change. This past year we've pivoted, we've shifted, we've learned, and it's just knowing that you can Always change things up is really [00:08:00] important because I think sometimes we put so much pressure on one decision and we think that it's going to be the make or break of our success when really that's not true either.

[00:08:10] Danielle: Number nine. Flip a coin. Think about it this way. If you truly can't decide on something, if you flip a coin and you're like, okay, heads, I'm doing this, tails, I'm not doing this.

[00:08:21] Danielle: When you flip that coin immediately your mind will probably let you know if it's the right decision or not. So if you have really been leaning towards a no, or if you've really been leaning towards a yes, and it's the opposite, your brain will immediately go Oh, but I wanted it to be this.

[00:08:38] Danielle: And so sometimes you can actually understand what you truly wanted to do and the decision that you truly wanted to make just by having either someone else, maybe get someone else to make the decision for you, or by flipping a coin. Okay, number 10 and the last tip is if it's a big decision, if it's something that truly is going to [00:09:00] change the trajectory of your life, of your business, then sleep on it or pray on it. or seek wise counsel. If you're really excited about this idea after a couple of days or after a week goes by, you know this is probably something for you.

[00:09:17] Danielle: If it's still on your heart, you're still excited about it and you're thinking of ideas and you can't sleep at night because you're so excited about moving forward on it. you'll know this is the right decision for you. So those were my 10 tips to make decisions in your business and to feel confident about it.

[00:09:35] Danielle: I hope you actually go through these steps so that you can feel really confident about the decisions that you are making. So I really hope this episode has helped you and if you are looking for that community or for those people To really help with brainstorming and making those decisions.
