3 Steps to Reignite Your Motivation
1. Self-awareness
Get to the root of your lack of motivation.
Take some time to sit down and write out questions to help you find what could have possibly triggered this lack of motivation or inspiration:
Have you been potentially spending a lot of time on social media scrolling lately?
Are you comparing yourself to other entrepreneurs that are in your same industry?
Maybe you're feeling like you're not as far ahead as you want to be?
Maybe you have recently gotten negative feedback from someone, or a bad review, or a customer complaint?
Maybe there's something happening in your personal life?
Maybe you feel tired and have low energy because you're just getting over feeling sick?
Burnout is a chance for you to hit “reset” and check that you’re in alignment with your vision and goals. You may need a huge pivot or shift in your daily routine or even just a mindset shift - but you need to be aware of the root before you make the shift!
2. Get Clear on Your Vision & Goals
It's easy to lose sight of our vision or and lose clarity for our goals, and that can lead to feeling uninspired or unmotivated.
Reconnect to your vision and your long-term goals. Take time to get out of the weeds and the “putting out fires” mode so you can stay clear in the direction of your dreams. And remember, it’s OK if dreams and goals change.
3. Take Action
Do something that will take you just one step closer to achieving your vision. So what are some tangible things that you can do to actually move you forward towards that vision or that goal that you have?
What are some tangible things that you can do to help you feel how you want to feel? So if you want to feel excited, inspired, energized, what are some tangible things that you can do that will actually make you feel that way?
Tap into your community for support! Connecting with someone who can relate to you and that you can rely on is a great action step to feeling less alone in your big feelings!

[00:02:09] So, before we get into the three steps of reigniting your motivation, I just wanted you to take a moment just to understand and to know that feeling these feelings are totally normal.
[00:02:24] A lack of motivation is a common challenge that many entrepreneurs face in their business, and you are human. You are not. What a machine. And I know that we've been talking a lot about AI lately, but you are not a robot. You have emotions, you have feelings, you have responsibilities in your life. You need to eat, you need to sleep, you need to take care of yourself.
[00:02:50] Not only your physical health, but your emotional and your mental health as well. I just wanted to share that first and foremost because I think sometimes we [00:03:00] can look at these seasons that we have in our life and our business when we're not feeling inspired or we're not feeling motivated and we can feel like there's something wrong with us.
[00:03:09] And that is just not the case. Many of us are also not only business owners, but we're also friends and sisters and wives, and some of us are moms. You are a whole being, and it's okay to not always feel incredibly inspired and energized and excited when it comes to your business. So, as an entrepreneur, We do need tools to support us because at the end of the day, yes, we are human and there's going to be times where we don't feel excited or inspired to do the work that we need to do, but we do need tools in order to get our spark back.
[00:03:46] So that's what we're going to go over today. We're going to talk about three steps to reignite your motivation as an entrepreneur. And again, these are super practical things and things that I've had to do. within my own seasons of not [00:04:00] feeling inspired and things that I have shared with my clients to do. So I hope these are super helpful for you.
[00:04:06] Step number one is self awareness. You're not always going to feel on top of the world and inspired in your business. And like I said, that is okay, but getting to the bottom of why you might be feeling off is incredibly valuable. So I want you to take some time, get out a piece of paper and actually write down your thoughts. and your feelings.
[00:04:28] What could have possibly triggered this lack of motivation or maybe this feeling of you don't feel inspired to work on your business? Have you been potentially spending a lot of time on social media scrolling lately? Are you comparing yourself to other entrepreneurs that are in your same industry?
[00:04:49] Maybe you're feeling like you're not as far ahead as you want to be. Maybe you have recently gotten negative feedback from someone, or a bad review, or a [00:05:00] customer complaint. Maybe there's something happening in your personal life, or maybe you realize that you just feel tired and low energy because you're just getting over feeling sick.
[00:05:11] So what are those potential reasons, jot those down, reasons why you might be feeling this lack of motivation? Often when I talk to clients, the reason that they don't feel inspired is because they're feeling burnt out and they're not inspired by the work that they're doing anymore. And so this means that we get to strategize on a way that they can change or shift or pivot and it could be a massive pivot in their business.
[00:05:41] And you know, I've, I've coached clients through that, but sometimes it's just a minor pivot or even. the structure of how they're running their days and how they're running their schedule. And so whether it is a big shift or a small shift, sometimes you just need that shift to happen.
[00:05:58] Step number two [00:06:00] is getting clear on what your vision and your goals are and identifying how you want to feel. Personally for me, I find that when I'm feeling uninspired or motivated, it's because I've often lost sight of what my vision is, and I'm not really clear on what the goals that I have are. So getting clarity on what you want to create with your business and what the long term vision is of what you want your life and your business to look like.
[00:06:29] So I love asking clients like, Where do you see yourself a year from now? Where do you see yourself two years from now, three years from now, five years from now? What do you want to be doing? What do you want your days to look like? What income level do you want to be at? And actually taking some time to get super, super clear on that vision and those goals are so important because often we are so caught up in the day to day of the tasks that we need to do that we don't take the time to zoom [00:07:00] out and actually look at, okay, long term, what do I want my life and my business to look like?
[00:07:04] And are the things that I'm actually doing today, are the actions that I'm taking, are that, is that actually what is going to take me closer to those goals or not? Because often what I see is that Business owners are so in the business, they can't see that bigger picture. So they're basically just in their inbox responding to emails and putting out fires.
[00:07:27] And they're not actually taking those steps that are actually going to take them closer to those long term goals that they have. So I was talking to a client recently who had mentioned that they were feeling unmotivated in their work, and as I started asking her more follow up questions, it was getting to be clear that it was because one of her goals had changed.
[00:07:50] She had had these big goals for her business years ago, but now it was not in line with the goals that she currently had for her business. And [00:08:00] so she was taking the action steps that were in line with her past goals, but not actually her current goals. So I want to give you permission that it is okay if your goals and your visions for what you're creating change over time.
[00:08:15] Goals and visions can change and give yourself that permission. to change, to pivot. It is something that we as entrepreneurs need to do all the time is to pivot, to change, to reinvent ourselves, and that's something we will continually do over the span of our business career. Another part of getting clarity is getting clear on how you want to feel.
[00:08:41] Do you want to feel excited? Do you want to feel inspired? Do you want to feel energized or creative? Take some time to write down all of those goals, your vision, and how you want to feel and get crystal, crystal clear on it so that you can actually feel [00:09:00] what it would be like to have achieved that goal, to achieve that vision, and have those feelings that you want to feel.
[00:09:07] Okay, so that's step number two. Step number three is take action. I want you to actually do something that is going to take you one step closer to that vision. Sometimes all it takes to get out of a rut, to get out of a lack of motivation is just to take action. Often, that action is something simple, but probably something that is a little bit outside of your comfort zone.
[00:09:35] So what are some tangible things that you can do to actually move you forward towards that vision or that goal that you have? And then what are some tangible things that you can do to help you feel how you want to feel? So if you want to feel excited, inspired, energized, what are some tangible things that you can do that will actually make you feel that way?
[00:09:58] So, can you take a walk [00:10:00] in nature or on the beach, if you're close to a beach, listening to in an inspiring podcast. Can you go for coffee or a lunch with a friend? Tap into your community for support. Can you ask them for help or schedule a call with them to be able to work through something that you're struggling with?
[00:10:19] This is why having a community, a Especially a community of entrepreneurs who you can relate to and rely on when you're having those down days is so important because if we are just doing business by ourselves and we don't have anyone to talk to, we don't have anyone who can relate to us, it's super lonely and we can feel like we're stuck in this low place.
[00:10:43] So sometimes just having a conversation with someone else who understands where we're coming from is so valuable. So taking action on something that is actually going to support you to feel the way you want to feel and then doing something that is outside of your comfort zone that will help you to [00:11:00] move forward on that big goal is often what can take us from feeling uninspired and unmotivated to re energized and re igniting that spark moving towards the exciting things that we have happening within our life and within our business.
[00:11:16] So this is my action step for you to go through those three steps and then let me know, send me a DM, come find me @danilivinglife send me a DM, let me know what you took action on. Let me know what way that you did something outside of your comfort zone. It could be potentially pitching a collaboration, pitching a client, following up with someone, reaching out to someone that maybe you feel intimidated by, and how are you taking action on how you want to feel?
