[00:00:22] Danielle: Let's dive in as we discuss the wild, exciting, crazy, challenging rollercoaster ride of entrepreneurship. Welcome back to another episode I am your host, Danielle Wiebe, and I wanted to just start by saying it has been so amazing to connect with a lot of you over on Instagram. I have had many of you message me over there and let me know that you're listening to this podcast, that you're enjoying it and sharing with me what your favorite episodes have been and just different takeaways that you have from the podcast.

[00:00:59] Danielle: It honestly makes. [00:01:00] such a big difference because, um, for anyone who has some sort of a platform, whether it be a podcast or a YouTube or whatever it is, you know, when you are creating content, sometimes you have no idea who's listening or who's watching. And so it is just such a joy to be able to connect with you and get to know you more, get to know more about your business and how I can best support you through this podcast because that is truly what I am doing this for.

[00:01:28] Danielle: for. So if you haven't already, come find me on Instagram. I'm at Danny living life. Send me a message. Let me know that you're listening and, um, what you want to hear more of from me. So I sent out an email to our VIP email list community, by the way, if you're not on our email list, definitely. Get there because we have so much incredible content that's there We also do really fun things once in a while where we do giveaways or we have Different opportunities that are strictly for our email list.

[00:01:58] Danielle: So go over to our [00:02:00] website businessbabescollective. com Scroll down to the very bottom. You will see join our vip email list go ahead and join and yeah That's the way we can stay connected and I can be in your inbox on a weekly basis so we can be better friends. So anyhow, um, I sent out an email yesterday and there were so many people who really resonated with what I shared.

[00:02:24] Danielle: So I decided I wanted to record a quick episode about it. So honestly, this has been something that I've been thinking about a lot lately. And something that I wanted to share with our community. And it's all around building a profitable and sustainable business, but while also thriving in your personal life.

[00:02:46] Danielle: Because I know that it can sometimes really feel like you need to choose one or the other. Or maybe you feel guilty when you're working because you should be doing All the other things, like working out, or [00:03:00] spending more time with your kids, or spending more time with your friends or your partner, whatever that might be.

[00:03:06] Danielle: And then when you're doing those things, and you're enjoying your life, and you're taking care of your health, then you feel guilty because you feel like you should be working. And I know I'm not alone on this. I know this is a constant battle. that I see my clients struggle with, our mastermind members, and I know a lot of people do as well, and I definitely feel the battle.

[00:03:29] Danielle: And I think one thing that I always try to remind myself is that you can do both. You can have thriving relationships, healthy marriages, great relationship with your kids, um, really great health and a successful business. Now, will all of those things always be true all at once? Probably not. There's gonna be definitely things that are challenges along the way and we are human after all.

[00:03:59] Danielle: [00:04:00] there are going to be struggles. We are flawed human beings. So conflict is pretty much guaranteed. And there's gonna be times when we get sick or maybe there's real life circumstances that happen that are incredibly challenging and we're going through a rough patch. So I don't want this podcast to sound like, Oh, life is just so easy and there's no challenges.

[00:04:25] Danielle: Like, trust me, I have faced some really difficult challenges. as well, and I, I get it, like, life can get really hard. However, if we can focus on actually trying to thrive in the areas of our life that are most important to us, so our relationships, our health, our finances, whatever that might be, we also show up as a better entrepreneur.

[00:04:52] Danielle: We are able to make decisions faster, we are able to take more calculated Risks, [00:05:00] we are more creative, we are much more likely to step outside of our comfort zone and maybe pitch ourselves for something that we wouldn't do or say yes to something that totally terrifies us, but we know that it's going to be incredible for for our growth and our business.

[00:05:18] Danielle: So I know for me, like if I am struggling in my personal life, if I feel burnt out or if I'm not getting enough sleep or if I'm having conflicts in my relationships, it affects my business. I'm not able to think creatively because my headspace is totally clouded by other things. And on the flip side, when I'm getting really good sleep, I'm going to bed early, I'm taking care of myself, I'm eating healthy.

[00:05:47] Danielle: I'm focusing on really investing time and energy into my relationships, my marriage, um, my kids. When that feels like it's thriving, [00:06:00] that's when I can come up with the most epic ideas for the business. That's when I feel like I have the most energy to tackle my profitable action steps that I'm pursuing in my business.

[00:06:13] Danielle: And when I feel like I can actually Think clearly and have a really clear vision of where I want to take the business That's when I'm taking care of myself and the other priorities in my life as well So I've seen the results of this with so many other people Who I've seen show up so powerfully in all areas of their lives And their business ends up exploding.

[00:06:40] Danielle: I see this with my clients, I see this with my mastermind members, I see this with my mentors all the time. And I want you to also be able to enjoy your life and thrive in your life, not just in your business, because if you're just so focused on everything that has to happen [00:07:00] in the business that you're neglecting other things in your life, that is not sustainable.

[00:07:05] Danielle: And it's also not going to bring you the best results long term. So today I want to give you some really tangible things. I want to encourage you. I want to, um, have you try some of these things out because I know sometimes you can think to yourself, okay, I know I'm not thriving in these other areas, but I need some kind of tangible tips to, to move forward.

[00:07:29] Danielle: So there's a lot we could talk about in this episode, but I'm just going to give you a few tangible things that you could do literally right now as you're listening to this, that you can implement to start to move in the right direction. So when you are looking at the. things that are on your to do list or the things that you're doing on a day to day basis.

[00:07:50] Danielle: Instead of telling yourself, I have to do this, try saying, I get to do this. It could be spending the day taking care [00:08:00] of your kiddos. It could be going over your finances or going over your taxes for the business, uh, getting through your to do list for work. It could be meal prepping or maybe it's cleaning your apartment or doing the laundry or pitching your next potential client.

[00:08:17] Danielle: Say to yourself, I get to do this. Like think about how that shifts your perspective. Being grateful for the thing that you get to do instead of saying, oh, I have to do this. Right? There's just such a different energy about it. So be excited, look forward to it, and then also ask yourself these specific questions as well.

[00:08:42] Danielle: What would this look like if it were fun? What would this look like if it were easy and what if I could really enjoy this process? So these subtle questions and subtle shifts completely change your [00:09:00] perspective on the thing you're about to do. It puts you in a totally different headspace and it also opens up new possibilities for you.

[00:09:08] Danielle: Okay, let's make this tangible. What would taking care of your kids look like if it were fun? Maybe you put on a song that you love, not nursery rhymes, but something that you really love. Like, think about one of your favorite songs, that's kid appropriate, and dance around the house with them. When it comes to work, what would tackling your to do list look like if it were easy?

[00:09:33] Danielle: Maybe there are some things on that list that you could automate, maybe you could outsource some of those things to a teammate or a virtual assistant or someone you could hire out. Or maybe you could just take off something off your list completely, like maybe it just doesn't need to get done. So What would it look like if it were easy and then when it comes to like things around the house?

[00:09:56] Danielle: What would laundry or cleaning up look like if you were [00:10:00] to enjoy the process for me? That is putting on my favorite podcast and listening while I fold or clean the dishes Whatever that might be, maybe you're doing that right now. I know most of the people who listen to this podcast listen to it when they're driving, when they're cleaning, or doing other things.

[00:10:18] Danielle: So if that's you right now, a special shout out to you. Another tangible tip is if you're finding yourself having a hard time getting motivated. To do something motivated to do work or motivated to just even enjoy the time that you have to take care of your kids or, um, to clean the house, whatever that looks like, take a walk, like get out of the house, get some fresh air and then come back and try it again.

[00:10:47] Danielle: And yes, I'm also talking to the mamas out there. I have a two year old and a four month old. I get it that it's hard to leave the house, but if I know I want to shift my perspective, if [00:11:00] I feel like a day is just chaos, and I just... I don't need to shift my perspective, have a different perspective. I just need to get out of the house.

[00:11:10] Danielle: And if you can't get out of the house for whatever reason, or maybe your kids are napping, then if you have a balcony or a patio, make yourself a coffee or a smoothie or a refreshing drink and step outside for like five minutes. It's even if it's raining, even if it's cold, the fresh air does such wonders to our brain.

[00:11:32] Danielle: And I actually looked this up online like during the prep for this podcast because I knew there was a very scientific way that I could explain why it's important to get outside. So this is what I found. When you are outside, the fresh air can help raise oxygen levels in your brain, which increases serotonin levels.

[00:11:54] Danielle: And serotonin is the neurotransmitter that alters your mood. So getting [00:12:00] fresh air is a super simple and effective way to improve your mood. And then plus, of course, we all know that moving our bodies also helps us improve our mood as well. So if you can. Get outside the house, walk around the block, you know, walk to your favorite coffee shop, whatever that is, just getting out there and doing something else and then coming back with a fresh perspective.

[00:12:22] Danielle: Another tangible tip, if you are having trouble getting motivated with your work is to change your environment. So if you can leave the house, go to a coffee shop or a coworking space. A lot of them have day passes that you can use or go to a restaurant even. And tell yourself you won't leave until you've finished a specific task.

[00:12:43] Danielle: If you can't leave the house, then try a different area in your, your house or your apartment, right? So we live in an apartment in Vancouver, and I often work, we have like a little office area in our bedroom. And sometimes I just need a [00:13:00] fresh perspective, sometimes I just need a different You know, something else to look at.

[00:13:04] Danielle: And so I'll go into our kitchen and I'll work at the kitchen counter, or I'll even go onto our patio and I'll work outside for a little bit, or I'll sit on our couch for a little while. Like sometimes just changing up the environment, even if it's just basically. Standing up with your laptop, sitting down somewhere else, and just getting something done can do the trick.

[00:13:24] Danielle: So do yourself a favor and try changing your perspective on things. And thinking to yourself, I get to do this instead of I have to do this. And then repeating those phrases to yourself. What would this look like if it were fun? What would this look like? If it were easy, what if I could really enjoy this process and then get outside, get moving, eat or drink something healthy to fuel your body and let me know how it goes.

[00:13:53] Danielle: I would love to hear from you.
