LISTEN TO THE EPISODE HERE:

As Business owners, it's so important to prioritize Joy + Fun! If we don’t then we might find ourselves resenting our businesses. When we are not excited about what we are creating with our businesses, we don’t have the energy to take action on the things that will move it forward!

Danielle empowers listeners by sharing 5 ways to bring more Fun + Joy into Your Business! Just to be clear, this doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with you if you are going through a time where you are not feeling motivated. These five tips are meant to be helpful when you are feeling “off” or unmotivated!

  1. Start Your Day with Gratitude + Celebrate Your Progress

When we are feeling down or discouraged with our businesses, it's often because we are not recognizing the progress that we’ve made and we don’t take time to celebrate our wins. This could look like:

    • Journaling the things you are grateful for - both personally & professionally

    • If you have a faith, prayer and devotion is a great way to start

If you start your day with work right away, consider starting with peace instead of productivity to shift your mood and mindset for the entire day.

  2. Dream Big and Create a Vision that Excites You

When we’re feeling unmotivated, many times it’s because we’ve stopped dreaming. Keep dreaming, create big goals, then take those big goals and break them down into daily & weekly tasks that you can be consistent with and celebrate every step of the way!

  3. Schedule Joy in Your Day

You can do this in so many ways! Do something that truly excites you. You can schedule:

    • Lunch with a friend

    • Daily walks or schedule a hike

    • Morning coffee by your favourite window or on your patio

    • Work from a coffee shop or co-working place if and when you can to change up the scenery.

    • Family time somewhere fun

These activities leave space for true inspiration and creativity - some of the best ideas come when you aren’t working! Setting boundaries on your work time and taking lots of healthy breaks protects you from resentment AND burnout.

  4. Surround Yourself with Positive People - Collaborate with Fun + Inspiring Businesses + Brands

When you work with awesome people, business becomes so much more fun! Connect yourself with a Positive, Inspiring group of other Business Owners who will cheer you on and celebrate your wins with you!

  5. Invest in your personal and professional development

Growth is a huge component of fueling our joy. Expanding your education can look like:

Lulls and funks often accompany complacency and staying in our comfort zones. When you take a risk, get outside your comfort, or switch up your routine, you are learning and connecting and you are growing.

We hope these Five Tips have inspired you to bring more Joy into your everyday life!

[00:00:00] Danielle Wiebe: Today on the podcast, we are talking about how to bring more joy and fun into your business. I think this is such an important topic because if we don't find ourselves having fun and bringing joy into the every day of our businesses, we start to resent them. And when we're not excited about what we're creating, We don't have the energy to take action on the things that are actually gonna move us forward.

[00:00:25] Now, I wanna be clear on this. All right, let's go ahead now and dive into our episode today.

[00:02:28] Welcome to the Business Babes Collective Podcast. I'm your host, Danielle Wiebe. In this podcast, you'll learn tangible business tips and strategies on how to grow successfully and sustainably. We'll also interview seasoned entrepreneurs, so you can listen in on their stories and see behind the scenes of what it took to grow and scale their businesses. Let's dive in as we discuss the wild, exciting, crazy, challenging, rollercoaster ride of entrepreneurship.

[00:02:58] All right, Five [00:03:00] ways to bring more joy and fun into your business. Let's go ahead and just dive right in. Number one is start your day with gratitude and celebrate your progress. When we are feeling down or discouraged in our businesses, it's often because we are not recognizing the progress that we have made and we don't take time to celebrate our wins enough.

[00:03:23] I love to start my days with gratitude. I also started with prayer and devotions, but for you it could just be writing in your journal all the things that you are grateful for. And this can be specifically to your, to do with your business. So maybe the clients or customers that you have and the things that are, are exciting you within your business.

[00:03:44] And then also some personal gratitude as well. This is really gonna set you up to have a really joyful and fun day. So starting your day with that is so, so key, and I encourage you, if you are [00:04:00] in the habit right now of just waking up and getting started with your work right away, I know that that is a really, really tempting thing to do and trust me, there's days where that happens with me.

[00:04:11] I'm not saying that I'm perfect, but when I do take the time to take some time to write in a journal and to do some devotion, do some prayer before I actually dive into my workday, that really sets me up to just start my day with so much more peace and so much more joy, and it helps me have more fun as well. so I highly encourage you to do that.

[00:04:34] Number two is dream big and create a vision that excites you. I know when I'm feeling unmotivated or I'm not feeling excited about things, I know that I've stopped dreaming, and I think a lot of business owners go through this where they're kind of just going through the day to day aspects of the business. They're putting out fires, they're in client work or they're, they're figuring [00:05:00] out kind of the behind the scenes of their business and they've stopped dreaming big.

[00:05:04] Maybe it's because they've had dreams before. They've had goals before that they have not accomplished. And so they think to themselves, Well, what's even the point if I'm not going to reach those goals anyways? And I highly encourage you, having goals and having dreams for your business is so, so important.

[00:05:22] And that's why, within our community, within our Mastermind, and I always encourage my clients to do this as well, is I always wanna encourage them to continue to dream and continue to set goals. It is so important because it allows us to get excited about what we could create with our businesses and a lot of the times as well, This goes with what I, we talked about for the first one, celebrating your progress, which, I didn't really dive into too much, but I'll dive into it now.

[00:05:52] Celebrating the little steps that you are making along the way to your big goals and your big visions for [00:06:00] yourself. Biggest thing that I wanna encourage people to do is set those big goals, set those big dreams, and then break them down into small, tangible steps that you can be doing every single day to get you there. And it's more about the consistency of those daily tasks or those weekly tasks that you're doing that is actually gonna take you to those massive big goals.

[00:06:21] So dream big, create a vision that excites you, and then also celebrate the progress that you are making as well.

[00:06:28] Number three is schedule joy into your day. This one is so important and you know this one is actually something that I wanna work on more, is really schedule things in your day that make you really excited. It could be a lunch with a friend. It could be a daily walk, it could be a morning coffee just by your favorite window or on your patio, changing up your work environment.

[00:06:54] So maybe you want to work from a coffee shop or work from a co-working space instead of just working from home. All of [00:07:00] those things are things that you can intentionally do to bring in more joy and more fun to your every day. And then also plan things in your personal life that you can get really excited about, too.

[00:07:12] So whether that be a dinner out with friends or going on a hike or doing something fun for the fall. I know, um, my husband and I really wanna go to the pumpkin patch this year with our daughter. Like, plan those things into your life as well and make sure those things are a priority, because not only is that really important just for your personal life to flourish, you know, spending time with family and friends and all those things, but also it brings more inspiration to your business.

[00:07:41] I find that I have some of the most creative ideas when I am completely unplugged and not even thinking about work, and then something will just come to me out of the blue and it is amazing and it just creates that space where you can be creative again.

[00:07:59] [00:08:00] So making sure not only that you are, you know, scheduling those things within your work days, but you're also just scheduling them in your life in general. You're prioritizing fun, you're prioritizing joy and family and friends and, and keeping in touch with everyone because if you try to just work yourself to the bone and you're not taking those breaks and you are just working around the clock, you're going to start to resent your business, and I don't want that for you. So schedule and joy.

[00:08:28] Number four is surround yourself with positive, inspiring people. This one is so, so key. I know for me, when I started surrounding myself with other entrepreneurs that were, that inspired me, that would cheer me on, that were positive, it was such a huge game changer for my business. I remember the first time that I joined a mastermind and I was just blown away by the fact that other entrepreneurs out there [00:09:00] that wanted to support me, that, you know, I could come to with questions and things that I could strategize on.

[00:09:06] Because the reality of running your own business is that it can be really lonely. And that's one of the things that really takes away our joy when it comes to running our businesses, is we're working from home. We don't see a lot of people. We're not connecting with the team. And so when, if we can surround ourselves and create that community for ourselves where there's other positive people around us who can celebrate us, who we can connect with, who we can get feedback from, whatever that looks like, it is so, so important.

[00:09:35] And that's a huge reason why I wanted to start our mastermind group because that is the vision and that is what has been created with our group is that it's a group of inspiring, entrepreneurial women who are all cheering each other on, who are supporting one another, who are helping one another grow, and it is such a beautiful thing to see that thrive.

[00:09:58] Okay. Number [00:10:00] five is investing in your personal and professional development. So growth is such a huge part of fueling our joy. When we are growing and when we are learning and we continue to grow in our relationships, in our knowledge, in our expertise, it helps to fuel that joy and fuel that excitement that we have for our work and for our businesses.

[00:10:25] And so if you currently feel like you're in a little bit of a low when it comes to investing in your own personal and professional development, I highly encourage you to look for ways where you can do that, whether it be education, even buying a new book or getting one from the library and, and educating yourself and learning about something new. Attending events or retreats or maybe investing in coaching or a mastermind.

[00:10:53] When you are learning and connecting, it is so amazing what actually happens [00:11:00] within your business and within your life. I can totally feel it when I have stopped learning, when I have stopped growing, I, I feel stagnant, right? I feel like, Oh, I'm not moving forward. And you kind of feel like you're in this lull or this funk.

[00:11:16] And I think a lot of the times it's because we have kind of complacent, in a way. And we've stopped looking for new opportunities. We have stopped, you know, getting outside of our comfort zone. That's another huge one. And we, we, we get in this comfort zone of doing the same thing day after day after day.

[00:11:35] So when we can switch things up, when we can take a risk, when we can get outside of our comfort zone, do something different, connect with a new group of people, go to an event or, or even just switch up our routine or switch up the way that we are doing things, it can really spark creativity. It can spark joy, and it can spark fun.

[00:11:55] So I hope these five tips have inspired you to bring [00:12:00] more joy into your everyday life, into your business, because again, this is such an important thing as entrepreneurs, as business owners, it's our job to create that excitement and that energy for our businesses. And that will fuel our growth. So I hope you enjoyed this episode.

[00:12:18] And again, quick reminder, go to businessbabescollective.com/workshop to get access to our free workshop. And if you are ready to apply for our mastermind, we would love to have you.
